Who we are
The DSS Oxford was founded in January 2021. We offer German classes for children and adults, and support students in their preparation for GCSE level exams. Three Germans who have lived in England for years and met in Oxford founded the DSS. Our staff are qualified teachers, who believe in teaching the German language through literature, music, art and culture.
Safeguarding
Child Exploitation and E-Safety
Children and young people can be exploited and suffer bullying through their use of modern technology such as the internet, mobile phones and social networking sites. In order to minimize these risks to our children and young people we have implemented appropriate measures such as security filtering. DSS Oxford also has appropriate safeguarding policies and e-safety policies in place. Our staff is properly screened (valid DBS checks) and aware of their position and responsibilities as teachers. All of them are trained on the risks associated with social networking sites. The use of mobile phones, cameras or other electronic communication devices is not allowed during school hours and at venues where our lessons take place. Our policies state that both parents and teachers can report suspected abused of children to the relevant agencies.
